This feature offers enhanced protection against potential breaches by requiring Face ID or Touch ID authentication for critical actions such as accessing iCloud Keychain passwords, device erasure, Lost Mode settings, and Safari purchases.

How to make the ‘Stolen Device Protection’ function active

Simply follow these steps to activate your iPhone’s enhanced security feature:

Make sure iOS version 17.3.4 or higher is installed on your device. If an update is required, navigate to Settings > General > Software Update and download and install it.

Launch the iPhone’s Settings app.

Select either Touch ID & Passcode or Face ID & Passcode.

Whenever prompted, enter your passcode.

After swiping down, select “Stolen Device Protection.”

Compatibility with Stolen Device Protection

All iPhone 11, 12, 13, 14, and the most recent iPhone 15 series are compatible with the Stolen Device Protection feature, as are the iPhone models XS, XR, and XR Plus.
